On May 14, Platteview students will be dressing up and heading to a night full of dancing and laughter. The Spring Dance, for Freshmen and Sophomores, will be held at SumTur Amphitheater from 5:30-7:30pm. The Junior-Senior Prom will follow shortly after that, ending at 11pm.

Prom Tickets are available for purchase in the PHS office. The price per individual is $8 and $15 for couples. Juniors who paid class dues this year or last year will not have to purchase a prom ticket. It is included in the price of the dues.

The theme for both dances is “Under the Stars.” Attire for the Spring Dance will be semi-formal, and the Junior-Senior prom will be formal wear. There will be a photographer at each dance with pictures available for purchase following the event. A photo booth will also be available at both dances. Those wishing to view the arrival of attendees to the dance may watch the livestream on the night of the event.

Buzz around the school is mostly excitement about the upcoming dances. Logan Nelson (12) said, “I am most looking forward to having a fun night with all of my friends… It is fun to get all dressed up and go to dinner before.” She went on later to say, “This will be a great way to end senior year.” With the dances around the corner, there is still a lot for students to do to prepare for the fun night ahead of them.
