Running Down the Dream: Trojan Football 4-1

Owen Hudson, Writer

The 2022 Trojan Football season has proceeded with astounding success. The team’s tremendous 4-1 start has been a way to build the hype for this year’s Homecoming football game against Roncalli. With four wins against Lincoln Christian, Nebraska City, Falls City, and Fort Calhoun; falling only to new C-1 powerhouse Aurora.

Football means a lot to the players involved. Ethan Golda said one of his favorite parts of high school has been playing football with his best friends on Friday nights. For these players, football has been a major part of their lives. Golda said, “I have been playing football since I was five. Football has brought me friendships that will last a lifetime.”’

The 2023 Senior class has worked hard the last three years to bring a District Championship to the Springfield-Platteview community, guaranteeing a birth into the playoffs.

Next week, the Trojans travel to play the Mustangs of Omaha Concordia in district play. Toe meets leather at 7pm on Oct. 8th.
