Platteview’s basketball team proudly held their hearts as Mia Loeffer beautifully sang the National Anthem.

The stands quieted. Three teenage basketball players lined up on each side of the net, and one stood at the free throw line. That was it, the moment of anticipation. The student section held their breath as the player took his shot. A single shout rang out across the gym, and the ball flew through the air. The quiet swish of the net was drowned out by chaotic cheering from the crowd. The air was electrified with energy from Platteview supporters of all ages and types. Senior Night took place on Thursday February 7th, 2019, and came with endless support from students and parents alike. The game was fun and loaded with emotion all night.

The 2018-2019 Basketball Season was successful for the team, and it was one to remember as well. Tyler Riley tied the record for most three pointers in one game. Over the course of the season, the Platteview family has grown closer together. The dynamic of the season has shifted, not only in the team but within the community as well. Each game gained more spectators and support than the last, and the team thrived in the environment. They played very well throughout the season and have developed a great defense over just a few months. Hard practice pays off.
