Charioteer Recieves Awards at UNO Media Awards Ceremony

Katelyn Grubb, Senior Editor

The PHS Charioteer Staff took a trip to the University of Nebraska Omaha on Thursday, April 4th (2019). The team attended a variety of workshops to learn about many important topics including: new technology in journalism, meeting in the middle with political reporting, how to cover a tragedy, practices in yearbook layout, capturing experiences with video, play by play live radio broadcasting, and tips on sports writing.

Along with gathering particulars from the workshops, students had the opportunity to attend an information fair. The fair included booths from the UNO admissions center, the School of Communication, student organizations, and the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.

After lunch, the students attended an awards ceremony to receive recognition for the pieces they have written throughout the 2018-2019 school year. The Platteview winners include:

– Jacob Muff (1st Place for his Video News Story)

– Katelyn Grubb (1st Place for her News Feature Photo)
