Summer Lunch Program 2021

Dylan Conover, Senior Editor

To make sure children in the district have a healthy diet during the pandemic, the USDA is providing the Summer Feeding Program for all children ages 0-18 at no charge to families. Every Thursday this summer, the “Drop-n-Go” program will distribute a week’s worth of food to all those who have signed up for the program.

This program continues the current initiative to provide young children with the food they need to live and grow during these difficult times.

The high school kitchen will also provide breakfasts of  omelettes, waffles, smoothies, and more for any sports and activities during the summer, specifically the summer weights program. Director of Nutritional Services Robin Hill explained that the program not only helps families in need, but it continues to employ kitchen staff and helps the district with federal reimbursement.
