New Tech Rollout 2021

Dylan Conover, Senior Editor

Since 2012, Springfield Platteview Community Schools has provided a 1:1 iPad pairing to students 7-12, with full K-12 technology pairing since 2015. This technology has allowed for greater cohesion between teaching methods and centers students’ work all into one place, organizing and streamlining the learning process.

As part of the three year refresh program, the 2021- 2022 school year will feature a new tech rollout. Old devices will be resold to the company Total Technology Results, which will buy the entire current fleet of school iPads and laptops. With the help of those funds, the district will purchase a new fleet of devices.

All K-12 students will receive brand new 8th generation iPads. K-3 students’ iPads will continue to be in the STM Dux case that they are currently in, but 4-12 students’ iPads will be in a new Logitech Rugged Combo 3 case, which comes with an integrated keyboard. Teacher devices will be updated to Logitech cases as well, and teachers will receive new MacBook Air devices.

Students will receive their new devices at the start of the next school year.
