Homecoming Court has been a long standing tradition at Platteview High School. This year the Homecoming Court is seniors: Ayda Brandt, Avery Dill, Sabryna Johnson, Olivia Lawrence, Ava Rockwell, Carter Grosdidier, Reed Patera, Griffin Saunders, Braden Staudt, and Ben Tuttle.
At Platteview High School, being chosen for Homecoming Court means that each student represents the ideas of being a Trojans. Ayda Brandt said, “I am super excited to be on it!” When asked why she got picked to be on the court she added, “ I think it’s because I am pretty involved with the school”
Each year Homecoming Court comprises of ten students nominated by teachers and coaches. This year one of the teachers Ms. Septh said, “When I choose a student, I’m looking for leadership, personality, and character.”
Another teacher, Ms. Lodes said, “When I choose a candidate I usually go for the NJH group and pick the one that’s most active.”
PHS students will vote for the Homecoming King and Queen during Homecoming week. The King and Queen will be announced during the Homecoming football game on Friday, Aug, 25.
