Platteview High School Football Team is getting ready for their first home football season of the 2023-24 school year this Friday, Aug. 25th, 2023. While preparing, working out, and studying for the big game, there also comes great responsibility to carry on the game day tradition. But how do these athletes get ready for the big day?
Platteview quarterback, Owen Stehlik (12th grade), along with Reed Patera (12 grade), give their two cents on how they prepare for a game. The two agreed “It’s essential to listen to music in order to get in the mood to play.” Regarding game day rituals Stehlik shared that he doesn’t have any rituals before the game he “just goes out and plays the best [he] can.” However, Patera is superstitious about drinking apple juice before games.
Both Stehlik and Patera made an array of predictions for this year, including “Going 9 and 0, undefeated state champs” as well as “having a pretty good season win a lot of games.”
Stehlik, Patera, and the rest of the Trojan Football Team play their first game Aug. 25th against Fall City.
