The Trojan Volleyball team hosted the Fall City team for their annual Dig Pink volleyball game on October 16, 2023. Dig Pink is a game where the players wear pink to fundraise and raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The game is reminiscent of a community. The Dig Pink is done through the Side-out Foundation, a volleyball specific foundation. They support women with breast cancer by fund research and treatment. The Dig Pink game raised funds by selling tickets, merch, and through donations. Mrs. Speth, the Head Coach, shared that it wasn’t about the money. It’s about “giving tomorrows” to the families. As the community comes together, the Trojans volleyball team comes together to play. Everyone comes together to show the patients that the community cares. Beyond the donations, they show support by giving flowers to the affected families. They give a variety of flowers and colors to the families in attendance. Emma Evans (10) shared that the flowers have different colors and meanings based on the families and situations.
