As 2023 becomes history, the new year dawns upon Platteview carrying many possibilities and opportunities. Trojans happily share what they are looking forward to in 2024.
With the freshmen readying themselves for their upcoming years of high school, many have an optimistic outlook on the new year. When asked what class he is looking forward to the most, Brody Gregor (9) replied, “Theater, as it is my favorite class, and I am very excited for the performances.”
New classes aren’t the only thing freshmen are looking forward to this year. Craig Thompson (9) said he’s eagerly anticipating “the whole new year and the exciting events that are coming up, like going to the E-Sports state tournament.”
With the Seniors getting closer to graduation and their journey into the world ahead of them, many have begun to plan for what they want their future to look like. Andi “Sprout” Carmen (12) says she is looking forward to “joining the UNO marching band.” Although Sprout is very musically-involved at Platteview, she commented that she is aiming for an engineering degree in college. She gave some advice for her fellow Trojans, saying, “Make your life as easy as possible and enjoy your time in high school while you can.”
There is always something to look forward to at Platteview, whether it’s a club, class, or something in between. No matter what obstacles come their way, students aren’t giving up on their dreams and keep fighting for what they aspire to do. Through hard work and determination, Trojans are continuing to broaden their horizons in 2024.
