Students worldwide have trouble with finding the right apps to help with schoolwork. Whether students are looking to assistance with taking notes, study guides, creating schedules, or learning through games, digital devices and apps can be of great help. But what are some apps that can help? Lydia Stewart (11) says “Quizlet, YouTube, these apps are helpful because they help me to learn and understand my school homework.” Apps listed here could help students prepare and practice for upcoming tests, homework, and assignments in and out of the classroom.
Goodnotes makes it easy for students to do their assignments, take notes, make visuals charts/ diagrams, or even create planners. CRM comments on the useful app, saying it “Provides a natural writing experience, making it a favorite among students, professionals, and anyone in between.”
Google Docs helps create and edit documents. Docs is commonly used while working in groups, this is due to students could share documents with other students and teachers to edit their documents.
Quizlet has features where students can make vocabulary cards – like digital flashcards. Med Kharbach of Educators Technology states, “Quizlet is a web tool and a mobile app that boosts students learning through a number of study tools that include flashcards and game-based quizzes. ” Quizlet makes learning fun for students and easy for teachers. It lets students communicate with their teachers and peers while racing to answer the questions as fast as they can.
Another great app is Kahoot, which helps teachers run games in class while students can practice with friends. Students can also make their own games and challenge one another by joining with a code.
These apps have helped people around the world to connect through social media and video games. A lot of students and teachers use most of these apps. Student at PHS, Gaige Brottem (9) says “I use Facebook. It’s helpful because it’s the only way I can communicate with my friends.”
With schools modernizing their resources available to students, teens have a multitude of apps at their disposal to help them figure out what learning style suits them. When students utilize these handy resources, they are able to work toward a successful future.
