On Saturday April 6th, 2024, the juniors and seniors at Platteview High School had their annual Prom. As they rolled out the Red Carpet, students walked into a banquet hall at Mahoney State Park with a beautiful balloon arch photo station, spacious dance floor, and complementary chocolate, popcorn, and water. The students of Platteview showed up in their best prom attire, ready to try out their best moves on the dance floor.

Corbin Fibich, senior, recalled the night, saying, “We hung out, chilled with friends, and danced. We had a blast.”
The juniors also had fun, as Aesop Poole said, “I am a junior, and I did not have a date, but I did go with friends. We did the ‘Cupid Shuffle,’ and I ate a lot of chocolate. My friends and I then celebrated with Cane’s after.”
Prom Royalty was announced, and Prom Prince and Princess (juniors) were Jude Perry and Kate Martin. Prom King went to Knut Kroon, and Prom Queen Ayda Brandt.
Knut recalls not expecting to win, and feeling very honored and happy to win: “The first person I told was my parents in Norway.”
Ayda said, “ I was not expecting to win at all, and I felt happy and fulfilled when I won. A lot of my friends were there when I won, but I definitely texted my best friend immediately and told her. My mom also shared the video with my whole family.”
As Prom ended, students made their way to “After Prom” at Platteview High School.
