The Platteview High School Unified Football team is Coached by Mrs. Middleton. The team this year has 14 players on the team. They’re divided into two teams: blue and red, with seven players on each. Platteview Red consisted of Jayden Anderson, Colin Morey, Brody Schuster, Evan Czech, Ava Robinson, Hadley Fahrenbruch, and TJ Dodd. Platteview Blue was made up of Jake Johnston, Evan Craig, Judah Stewart, Brynn WIlliamson, Jaxon Adams, Dane Miller, and Jord’N Sweeney.
The Unified Football team played at the Special Olympics Champion Schools Tournament on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Platteview Red brought home the gold medal, winning the semi-final game with 18-0 against Westside. Additionally, Platteview scored a last-minute touchdown, and Brynn Williamson (9) reflected, “My favorite memory was winning the game with my team.”
Platteview Blue beat a formidable Millard South team, but Platteview Blue lost the second game when Westside scored a touchdown in the finals seconds of the game. This record allowed them to bring home the silver medal. Judah Stewart (9) commented, “I really enjoy playing quarterback because I get to control the ball. I enjoyed our victory in the first game we played because we had great communication.”
