The 2024-2025 Platteview High School Girls Golf season is in it’s home stretch, with only the State Tournament left. Kinsley Johnston (12) has qualified for this year’s State Tournament. Johnston has worked tirelessly to improve her skills and score throughout the season. Her teammates and coach were there every step of the way. Johnston credits them with helping improve her confidence and mindset. Johnston said, “I have also been able to stay more positive and have good body language.” This dedication to the game has created a noticeable improvement, as her score has decreased significantly.
Upon finding out she qualified, Kinsley Johnston described, “I was super excited to make it to state again, but also felt the pressure to succeed.” She planned to enjoy her last high school golf tournament and finish her season off on a good note. Johnston offers, “To practice a lot and build a strong swing with the help of coaches or professionals” as advice for beginner golfers.
The 2024-2025 Girls State Tournament was held at Monument Shadows Golf Course, Gering 69341, on October 14-15. Both days had the first tee at nine in the morning. Kinsley Johnston was scheduled to begin at 9:50pm. She placed 31st out of the 80 competitors.
