Every student who attends Platteview High School is a unique, crucial individual. However, even among the extraordinary, Macy Czech (12) stands out as an high achieving, involved student. Macy is involved in a wide variety of activities. She is a leader by example in most of her extracurricular activities. Macy remarked that a fond memory of one of her clubs was “When our team tied for third in the Quizbowl tournament. I answered the last question to win a round, and it was loads of fun!”
Macy is a dedicated, hard working student. She scored a 34 on her ACT test, and she has enrolled in a multitude of advanced dual credit classes. Macy has a special interest in Mathematics. Macy’s love of math has been shown multiple times throughout high school. Macy started the Platteview High School Math Club and has participated in multiple different UNL Math Days. Macy stated, “I’m going to college to major in mathematics, but I have no idea where I’m going currently.”
Macy gives credit to Platteview for helping shape into the successful student she is today. She gives special thanks to the faculty of the school. She states “Mr. Hopp and Mr. Dostal have been amazing teachers. Whenever I have questions, they’re always there to listen to me. Mr. Dostal even helped me form a Math Club. They really helped foster my love of math.” She also is thankful for the culture of the high school. She stated that the ability to participate in as many extracurriculars and connecting to people is what it means to be a Trojan.
