Jake Nelson is a Junior at Platteview High School who is involved in many of the
school’s athletic activities. Between hunting with friends and playing football, Nelson is a very
busy student who is happy to be a part of Plattview’s community.

What do you like most about Platteview?
JN: I like that everybody here is nice, and that [Platteview] is such a small school. [Platteview’s
teaching staff] are really good at what they do and help [students] learn.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of school?
JN: I like to hunt, fish, ride dirt bikes, mess in the mud, and hang out with my friends.

What plans do you have after you graduate from high school?
JN: I would like to throw track at Wayne State University, which is where I plan to study
construction management. I’d like to have a management position in the future for a construction
team that [works on projects such as] houses and other buildings.

What advice do you have for other Platteview Students?
JN: Pay attention in class and get good grades, because it will affect you in the future.

What does it mean to be a Trojan?
JN: To me, being a Trojan is being involved in sports. I think sports are a huge part of Platteview, so it is a big deal to me to be a Trojan. I wouldn’t want to be anybody else.
