On April 20 and 21, 2018, Platteview High School had the honor of hosting the District II Music Contest. A total of 16 schools participated, including Arlington, DC West, Skutt, Plattsmouth, Wahoo, and Boys Town. Both days brought beautiful and vibrant music from bands, solos, small ensembles, and choirs. The performances were judged and graded with the highest score being a 1+ and the lowest a 5. The whole building was used for the Music Contest; classrooms were commandeered and hallways were jam packed with crowds of people. The schools received a spattering of grades, and many were happy to see the Platteview Band’s 1+ score. The Contest offered a great opportunity for performers and was a spectacular event.
