The Class of 2018 ready to learn on their first day of school.

Katelyn Grubb, Staff Writer

As the school year comes to a close, the Platteview class of 2018 are anxiously awaiting their graduation date. Some students have taken the time to reflect on their school memories, as they count down the days to May 20th, 2018. These seniors remember their favorite memories (good and bad) from their years at Springfield Platteview Community Schools. A group of Platteview Seniors were asked the following questions to reflect on their favorite school memories.

1. What elementary school did you attend?
2. What is your favorite memory from elementary school?
3. What is one of your embarrassing/funny stories from high school or middle school?
4. What is something from high school you’re going to miss?

Rachel Rockwell
1. I went to Westmont Elementary. Go, Wildcats!

2. My favorite memory was probably all of kindergarten, because I remember playing in the sandbox all day, we got to nap, and we had no cares in the world.

3. One time while marching in the Fair Parade for Colorgaurd, a kid ran out into the street and I accidentally hit the kid [with the flag], but I just had to smile and keep walking. Another embarrassing story is when I had Mrs.Clayton’s keys to open the light booth; I thought “I can definitely throw these to the people on stage that need them for the dressing rooms.” So I threw her keys from the light booth all the way to stage and the person onstage didn’t catch them. The ring holding them together broke, and all of her personal and professional keys went all over the auditorium (some even broke). Not my best moment.

4. I’m going to miss my absolute best friend. I will definitely miss my teachers, because they always made class bearable.

Kennedy Heimes
1. Springfield

2. When Tjaden Stanosheck took off our third grade teacher’s shoes while she was reading to us.Another one of my favorite memories from elementary school was our annual last day of school shaving cream fights.

3. After I got done taking a test in Mr. Lynam’s class, I went to turn it in and tripped getting up from my desk, tripped on the floor as I was walking to turn it in, then tripped again when I tried to sit back down.

4. I’m really going to miss Dance Team, my teammates, and a lot of the teachers I had during my 4 years at PHS.

Mitchell White
1. St. Matthews

2. My favorite memory is when we went to a science museum and did one of those things where we all made a circle and electrocuted each other.

3. My most embarrassing story is when I broke my arm and was laying on a gym floor for an hour while the gym class just watched me.

4. I’m gonna miss the humans that have made my life amazing over the last 4 years.

Jenny Welsh
1. I went to Springfield Elementary School.

2. One of my funniest stories from elementary school was when I laughed so hard at the puberty video that I got in trouble.

3. A funny story from high school happened this year during a senior class meeting. Mr. Alexander was reading something and said he “wished he had his glasses.” They were on top of his head. It was very funny.

4. I’m going to miss being able to be involved in so many things and build such a great bond with so many people through those activities. I’m going to miss walking down the hallway and knowing everybody well enough to say, “Hi.” Overall, I’ll really miss the familiarity of Platteview.

Congratulations to the Class of 2018! Good luck as you advance to the next stage in your
lives. You will be missed by your fellow Trojans.
