Everyone in high school gets their school pictures taken, students and faculty alike. Because of this, some former students of Platteview High School (who are currently faculty members) are able to relive their memories by watching their children pose for the camera. Picture day for Trojan students was on Wednesday August 29th, 2018.

Andrea Nowka and Darin Johnson have children that currently attend Platteview; they comment on how funny their school pictures were back in their day. “[It’s] entertaining to look back at [them] and see [the] hairstyles,” He continued, “[when] I had hair.”

Darin Johnson graduated from high school in 1992.

Taking school pictures can remind any adult of the fond memories one experiences during high school; “I was on the dance team,” Mrs. Nowka smiled. Being a teenager in this day and age is pretty different from what our faculty was used to, and it’s interesting to see how the styles have changed over the years.

Most teachers have a good idea of what it means to be a Trojan, and Mr. Johnson had his answer down to a tee: “Platteview [shows] such great character and loyalty, a good value system.” Nowka commented, “being supportive of all activities,” plays a major role in having Trojan Pride.

Regardless of any age or status, Trojan pride will shine through every year in our school pictures.
