Platteview High School’s Annual “Penny War” has commenced on November 12th, 2018. Students are encouraged to exchange their change in a competition against each advisory class, in which all proceeds will be donated to Food Banks in the local area.

The rules for the 2018 Penny War are listed below:

  • Silver is what you want in your jug, and pennies and bills subtract from your class total.
  • At the end of the contest all silver will increase your amount and pennies and bills will decrease your amount.
  • Class Jugs/Containers need to be in the open where they can be easily seen by opponents; with the being said, all classrooms should be locked when a teacher is not present.
  • In keeping with the good natured competitiveness, please have all your change in or near your jug on the last day so remaining classes will be able to see your efforts.
  • Change will be collected after school on Friday (November 16th, 2018), or you can drop off the jug with Mrs. Layher or Mrs. Starks.

Good luck to each advisory!
