Each year Platteview’s sports teams change drastically; for example, teams can change with incoming freshmen, graduating seniors, and new administration. This year’s 2018-2019 Platteview Basketball Teams have many variations.

This year Platteview’s Boys Basketball team is currently 10-8. When corresponding with sophomore Tyler Riley about his thoughts on this year’s team he said, “This year is a lot different from last year’s team. Last year’s team had 11 seniors on the team, [whereas] this year’s team only has 2. We started the season with a little lack of varsity experience, but I think we’re on the right track. We just need to minimize little mistakes and stay focused, and we’ll be fine.”

The Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team as of now has a record of 11-7. Freshman Julia Kreifels discussed the differences from last year to this year and said, “This year I think there’s a lot of talent from each grade. There’s a lot of speed, and if we can get under control we could be a very good team. A lot of teams have bigger girls than us, but we play at a speed they can’t handle. High school basketball is a lot more educational than middle school. I’ve learned a lot about things I’m doing wrong and how I can get better. We are pushed to be the best we can be and we work hard everyday to get better.“
