Publications Staff

As another senior class graduates, the Staff and Faculty at Platteview High School send forth their best advice. They hope that current students, those leaving, and all alumni find these points of wisdom to be helpful as students make their way through the trials and tribulations of life.

Mr. McLaughlin:
Being happy is not an accident. Choose a career that makes you happy, then choose to surround yourself with kind and happy people, then make a choice every day that you are going to be a happy person. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Mrs. Ehrke:
“As you all learned with REPASOS … don’t procrastinate.”
If someone ever tells you that you are putting too much peanut butter on your bread, stop talking to them.  You don’t need that kind of negativity.

Mrs. Hartwig:
You will fail. You will make mistakes. How you respond to the failures and mistakes shows who you are and how much you care.

Mr. Jennings:
1.  Don’t ever be satisfied.
2.  Enjoy the process.  The more I look at my life, the more I understand why certain things were meant to happen and how they affected the person I am and the life I’ve led, so far! Fun ride!

Mrs. Starks:
Get in the habit of saving part of your income every month to build your emergency fund.

Mr. Stanton:
Turn your dreams into goals by making a plan and working it!

Mrs. Janda:
Don’t go to bed angry.

Mrs. Layher:
Look for value in every day, and create a great story!

Mrs. Kallhoff:
If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you do good.

Mrs. Falch:
Be nice, and make good choices!

Mrs. Gustafson:
Be open to new people, new ideas, and new experiences.
