In this podcast, Grace Beaty (9) had the opportunity to sit down with Cross Country and Track athlete Isabel Clarke (10) to discuss how she stays fit between seasons.

“I usually come home after school and run at least a mile a day to stay in shape,” says Isabel Clarke (10).

Research suggests that an easy way to maintain a proper level of fitness is by running according to a strict schedule. One of the most difficult challenges to overcome, especially in the winter or summer, is the dangers weather poses on a set schedule. It can be too hot or too slippery to run outdoors, so a great way to avoid this is by finding ways to work out at home or indoors.

“I will usually find an indoor track to run in during the winter to avoid the ice,” says Isabel Clarke (10). “When it gets too hot outside, we will do yoga indoors to work different muscles.”
