In an end of the year school-wide food drive, Platteview’s Student Council has stepped up to help the community. Student Council President, Nearly Hernandez, helped organize the Food Drive, putting up fliers and turning the drive into a student competition.

Through the week of May 3-7, students donated food items by grade level. Each grade had a specific drop in one of the social studies rooms. The reward for the class with the most donations was Krispy Kreme donuts.

At the end of the week, the food was tallied. “It was a pretty good haul,” said Mr. Comine, the club’s sponsor. The Junior and Senior Class tied, and the food was donated to the Springfield Methodist Church.
