Senior year of high school is the most exciting year yet. With a mix of excitement and anticipation in the air, students complete all of their last responsibilities to set themselves up for a successful graduation. At the same time they take their final chance to create lasting high school memories to look back on with friends and family. Whether your future is filled with college, trade school, military, straight into a career or travel, this is the ultimate senior year bucket list for you.
Before looking into what lies ahead, it is important to live those iconic senior moments. To start off, senior sunrise and senior sunset surrounded by your classmates and friends is the best way to begin and end your chapter. Homecoming and Prom, of course, are core memories that everyone should make. Those long-lasting nights with high energy and photos with your favorite people along with their themed dress-up days, pep rallies and games are a part of the high school experience no one should miss out on. Many students’ favorite days include senior skip days and coming up with a senior prank. Eli Turco (12) stated that, “senior skip day was a highlight of my year and so much fun with my friends.”
Senior responsibilities that should be checked off the list could include: passing all of the required courses, applying for various colleges (if still undecided and going to college), applying for scholarships, turning in your senior photo and baby photo to Katie Wallman (main office administrative assistant) for the slideshow at graduation, emailing Dr. Kersulov your senior photo for the yearbook, buying or renting a cap and gown, turning in all sports/activity jerseys and equipment belonging to the school, and making sure all fees are paid (ex. iPad/computer fees).
Lastly every senior needs their iconic senior photos taken to mark this time of their life and to show their kids what they looked like ‘back in the day’. Before you walk that stage, if you haven’t already, make sure you have someone take some, professional or not.
