The Platteview High School Fall Concert filled the auditorium with excitement, talent, and emotion as students from across the music program showcased their talents and hard work. The audience brought an enthusiastic energy to the night, cheering and applauding each performance while showing deep respect for the performers. One of the performers, senior Maren Ferguson, shared her experience from the concert and reflected on what made the evening special. “The audience was very respectful and excited about music,” Maren Ferguson said. “They were very invested in the music.”
Maren Ferguson performed in both Concert Choir and Elite Vocal Ensemble (EVE), which she described as both rewarding and challenging. “The most challenging part of the concert for me was the EVE because it is the most challenging choir ensemble by default since it is auditioned,” she explained.
In preparation for the show, students spent weeks perfecting their harmonies and stage presence. Maren Ferguson recalled a memorable moment right before the concert began, “A memorable moment before the concert was the EVE practice right before.”
Her dedication paid off during her solo performance, where she experienced a moment she’ll never forget. “One thing I will not forget about the performance is hearing my voice echoing off the back wall of the auditorium during my solo in EVE.”
The Concert Choir performed “Dolly Waits,” “Tres Cantos,” and “Dance For Love.” EVE followed with energetic and heartfelt renditions of “Please, Please, Please,” “Forget About You,” “Landslide,” and “Happy Together.” reflecting on the night, Maren Ferguson mentioned one small thing she’d do differently next time, “Next time I would warm up in the car a little more before I got here.”
The Fall Concert was a night to remember filled with beautiful music, supportive audience, and moments of pure harmony that showed just how talented Platteview’s musicians truly are.
