On December 6th Platteview High School hosted a Holiday Concert consisting of their concert band, jazz band, and Elite Vocal Ensemble. Springfield Platteview families, friends, and fellow staff members gathered in Platteview auditorium to enjoy the sweet harmonies these students have perfected.
The Elite Vocal Ensemble is a new addition this year, they’re a non instrument, acapella group. They joined the trojan singers in performing “Silver Bells,” “Silent Night,” and “Noel/He is Born.” Emerson Osborn performed a solo.
As a new member of the Elite Vocal Ensemble, Maren Ferguson exclaimed, “When I heard I got in, I got excited because it was a replacement for Show Choir and I was excited to be a part of the start of something new.”
The Concert Band stole the show, playing, “We Wish you a Merry Christmas,” “A Christmas Bell Carol,” and “Boughs of Holly.” Each performer perfected their beat or tune, spread holiday cheer one instrument at a time, and earned a substantial applause from the audience at the end of the night.
