On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Platteview Volleyball team hosted their annual “Dig Pink” game against the Glenwood Rams. This special matchup took place during Homecoming week, adding even more excitement to the night.
The Trojans have been working hard since summer to prepare for big games like this one. Between summer weights, open gyms, daily practices, and a busy schedule of more than 15 games, the team has built a strong season. At one time, the team held an impressive 13 wins out of 16 games.

Players shared their excitement heading into the Glenwood matchup. Brea Weldon (12) said, “I’m really excited for this game, and the rest of the season.” She highlighted the team’s positive energy and determination.
Kiera Brummund (10) explained, “The team this year is so close, and we are all high achievers. This game is super important with it being Homecoming week and all.”
Ava Gould (11) added, “We have been training hard for this season, especially the Homecoming volleyball game.”
The coaches echoed that confidence. Coach Poppin shared, “I’m really proud of these girls. They have been preparing all summer for this. With their teamwork, spirit, and training, I know they will go out there and do an amazing job.”
The Trojans proved that hard work pays off, defeating Glenwood in four sets. They dominated the first set 25-10 and secured the second 25-20. The Rams fought back in the third, winning 25-21, but the Trojans closed out the night with a 25-15 victory.
With strong teamwork, spirit, and preparation, the Trojans continue to push toward a successful season, one that students and fans won’t want to miss.
